Welcome to the new segment on the 3S Blog — "Why’d We Book it?"

We want to bring our 3S community into the know on the events coming up at 3S that have us shouting from the rooftops: “Hello! Friends! Something super FUN is coming to Portsmouth!”

We know that not all of the acts we book are widely known. This is partly because it is paramount to our vision as a contemporary arts organization to bring up-and-coming acts to our Performance Space stage for all of you culturally curious folks out there.

We don’t want you to miss out on an event that would have been right up your alley just because you had never heard of an act before. That’s why we’re highlighting some of our upcoming events in this segment — to give you a greater understanding into the kind of night you’re in for when you attend.

Spirit Art: Immersive Meditation & Art Workshop w/ Empress Alchemy Healing // Sunday, June 22

Sara Comer is an intuitive medium, reiki master, and sacred ceremony facilitator. She is the founder of the healing arts business Empress Alchemy Healing and is based in Bedford, NH. Sarah is a lifelong artist with a degree and former career in fashion design, and has studied intuitive channeling and mediumship since 2019.

In this workshop led by Sara, you'll learn about channeled artwork from artists like Hilma af Klint, Georgiana Houghton and Ethel Le Rossignol and then have an opportunity to practice this method yourself and create your own intuitive art piece to take home. Participants will also have the opportunity to create a collaborative channeled art piece together.

You don’t need any previous art experience to participate, and all art supplies will be provided!

So… Why’d we book it at 3S?

We've had Sara Comer of Empress Alchemy Healing at 3S twice in the past for New Moon and Summer Solstice cacao ceremonies. She is gifted at gently guiding groups on a journey of receptive meditation. During these chaotic times we're living in, it's important to us that we offer forms of respite to improve our mental health and well being. We're particularly drawn to the channeled artwork component of this workshop, and we are so excited to see what you all create!
