Dear Friends,

Welcome back!

On behalf of our Board and Staff, thank you for your support over the past four months. We’ve missed you and truly couldn’t have made it through this time without your generosity. Thank you.

As we set the stage to (gradually) reopen beginning on July 24th, please know that we do so with careful attention to public health and visitor safety. We are deeply committed to finding ways to connect artists and audiences. We are also committed to doing our part to minimize the risk of exposure to COVID-19. We need to take care of each other.

On Friday, July 24th, visitors will be once again welcomed into the Gallery for two exhibitions: 50 Views of the Piscataqua and Abstraction. Visitors will be limited to 10 people at a time in the Gallery and masks will be required.

For those of you not ready or able to visit in person, we understand. We will be adding new ways of enjoying our Gallery exhibitions moving forward: through 3D virtual visits and enhanced online images, artist content, and sales options.

Beginning on Friday, August 7th, the Loading Dock Concert Series returns on Friday nights! This fan favorite outdoor series returns with a few twists to help keep you safe and comfortable: online reservations, assigned (socially distanced) table seating, table service, and two shows per night (6pm and 8pm). Guests are required to wear masks unless safely seated with their party at their outdoor table. Due to the loss of revenue and seating capacity, the Loading Dock Concert Series is now a ticketed event and offers guests a “pay what you can” model, with a $10 minimum. (Please know that the more you pay, the more funds are received by the artists-- not just 3S.) This family-friendly series will continue through September every Friday night and features a knock-out lineup you won’t want to miss. Mark your calendars- the August shows go on sale next Thursday, July 16th.

When will 3S reopen for indoor concerts and events in the Performance Space? We have chosen to reopen with the Gallery and outdoor events first. As a venue that would typically welcome 400 individuals (standing) to a show, we are now exploring indoor event potential for 40 individuals (seated) due to COVID-19 social distancing requirements. We are working on events that offer real impact for the artists involved, offer a safe and fun experience for all, and are financially viable. Until then, we will continue partnering and streaming events. Just this morning tickets went on sale for a special virtual presentation of Long Story Short: With Friends Like These available for viewing right away or at your own convenience

We’ve been grateful to find new ways to share the arts with you over the past months- through online exhibits, online art auctions, streaming events, etc., but we do look forward to this first step towards being truly #TogetherAgain.

See you soon I hope!

Beth Falconer, Executive Director of 3S Artspace
