I hope this finds you well—enjoying the return of brighter, longer days and the sense of possibility that comes with the season. As always, 3S Artspace is buzzing, and we’re excited to share just a glimpse of what’s ahead this spring and summer. Consider this your invitation to fill your days with opportunities to indulge in curiosity, creativity, and community. Time well spent.
A few special dates to mark on your calendar:
May 22: Portsmouth High School Fine Arts Night returns to 3S this Friday! This special evening celebrates the incredible creativity of local students. You don’t need to be a parent to appreciate the talent on display—this event is free and open to all.
June 4: Artist Advancement Grant Exhibit Opening Reception & Meet the Artists — We’re excited to once again partner with the New Hampshire Charitable Foundation for this special celebration.
July 10: Charlie Parr — An unforgettable summer performance by this acclaimed guitarist, songwriter, and interpreter of traditional folk music.
June 11: NSquared Dance – Fun and Games — An exhilarating professional contemporary dance production inspired by the thrill of play.
August 4: DakhaBrakha — An “ethno-chaos” quartet from Kyiv, Ukraine, blending sound and soul into a world of unexpected new music. Not to be missed!
Lately, we’ve been hearing a version of the same question: “3S sure is busy—how do you manage it all?” The answer is simple: with a small but mighty team, a passionate community, and the generous support of people like you.
As we look ahead, 3S Artspace is seeking new members to join our Board of Directors at an exciting moment of growth and opportunity. As a leading contemporary arts organization in the region, we are deeply engaged in a downtown Portsmouth neighborhood undergoing significant development and change. We are looking for thoughtful, engaged partners to help shape the future of our facility and programs.
We’re especially interested in individuals who are passionate about the arts, eager to contribute as thoughtful leaders, and (importantly) excited to connect people and ideas in support of our mission. Experience in areas such as finance, fundraising, human resources, or facilities planning is particularly valuable, as is prior Board Experience. However, just as important is a genuine enthusiasm for helping 3S thrive!
If you—or someone you know—might be a good fit, we’d love to connect. Please reach out to Anna Greenslade to learn more.
And, of course, community support remains at the heart of everything we do. If you’re able, we hope you’ll consider making a donation to help sustain and expand the programs you see reflected here. Every contribution—of time, energy, or resources—helps keep 3S vibrant and accessible: 3sarts.org/donate
Thank you for being part of this community. We can’t wait to see you soon.
With gratitude,
Beth Falconer, Executive Director of 3S Artspace
