Abundance 2

Artist Statement

Abundance is inspired by the landscapes and seasonal rhythms of the North Shore. Hand-built stoneware vessels are paired with sculpted botanical forms that reflect local harvests, native plants, and the coastal environment.

Created collaboratively, the work brings together contrasts—weight and delicacy, permanence and change, function and sculpture. The rough surfaces of the clay meet detailed organic forms, creating a conversation between the land and the life that grows from it.

The work invites a slower way of seeing: a moment to notice the textures, shapes, and quiet richness found in the natural world.

Abundance 3

Artist Bios

Ceramic artist Betsy Weisberg makes hand-built stoneware and porcelain vessels inspired by the tidal landscape of the North Shore.

The coastline’s unevenness—its softened edges, erosion, and slow accumulation of change—runs through her work. Forms hold a similar quiet instability, where nothing feels fully fixed and small shifts remain visible.

Each piece begins as a sketch but shifts as the clay resists and redirects intention. She leaves traces of process visible: the pressure of the hand, adjustments, and small decisions that accumulate over time. She works primarily in matte white and celadon, allowing light to define form.

After a long career in global merchandising, design, and luxury real estate, and after raising a family, she found the quiet needed to return to creative work.

What remains is as important as what is taken away.

Potter Amy Vandeventer is a native New Englander who celebrates the local seasonal bounty through vibrant, functional stoneware. Inspired by a lifelong passion for gardening, she translates the rhythmic cycles of the seasons into meticulous, high-detail motifs of native fruit and flora. Her practice is defined by technical precision and a bold, colorful aesthetic, marrying purposeful utility with refined craftsmanship. Alongside her studio work and teaching pottery, she leverages over a decade of corporate project management to ensure every piece meets a standard of high-caliber execution.
