Join us in the Gallery for an Artist Talk and Conversation with exhibiting artist, Lynn Cazabon. Lynn will speak about her project and exhibition, Losing Winter. She will also lead a discussion with the Executive Director of the Seacoast Science Center, Kate Leavitt, along with several people who participated in this site-specific realization of the Losing Winter project.

Attendees are invited to remain after the event to further explore the exhibit and meet the artist and participants.

About Kate Leavitt, Executive Director, Seacoast Science Center

Kate holds a B.S. in Marine and Freshwater Biology from the University of New Hampshire and an M.A. in Biology from Miami University. She began her career as a marine scientist, later expanding her focus to education, conservation, and strategic leadership to ensure that more people—especially the next generation—have the opportunity to be inspired by the wonders of the ocean.

About the Losing Winter project participants:

Betty Crepeau, Professor Emeritus of Occupational Therapy, University of New Hampshire. In retirement she enjoys community service, reading, doing cross-stitch, and drawing and painting.

Thomas Pistole, Professor Emeritus of Microbiology, University of New Hampshire. He is a long-time hospice volunteer and singer/sheet music collector.

Kelli O’Connor-Maynard is a local educator and longtime enthusiast of the natural beauty found along the New Hampshire Seacoast.

Kara Carlson, Portsmouth High School art student.
