North Shore Boston’s Cold Engines is the melody driven rock project of musicians David Drouin alongside drummer Aaron Zaroulis, Geoff Pilkington and Adam Saylor. The group emerged in 2015 with a prolific run of 12 full length albums and over 140 shows a year sharing stages with Los Lobos, Blues Traveler, Bobby Keyes, Rustic Overtones, Mihali, Soule Monde, Space Junk, Michael McDonald and many more.

Drouin and Zaroulis formed and toured internationally with The Brew and for years they were seen at most major festivals in the U.S and returning many times to Mountain Jam, All Good, Gathering Of The vibes and a slew of Moe.downs as they topped radio charts across the globe. When that chapter ended, they knew Cold Engines was the next evolution of their musical journey.

The new band pivoted quickly to capture something special. With the relentless pop hooks of The Police, Queen, The Smiths, Neil Young and The Beatles serving as inspiration, Cold Engines knew exactly what they were after.

Capturing the urgency and catchiness of the golden era of Pop, R&B, Rock and Jam music, the band garnered an obsession. Honing the band with additions of journeyman Boston heavyweights was necessary. A litany of guest stars appear on the many records including Amelia Gormley, Eric Reingold, Matt Pynn, Jon Persson, John Funkhouser, Emily Garcia, Alice Austin, Chris Plante, Seth Campbell, Jordan Holt, Adam Ezra, Audrey Ryan, Johnny Bluehorn, Andrew Fogliano, and Ben Alleman with Tim Phillips in NYC heading up the recording team.

Cold Engines has won and been nominated for Rock Band Of The Year in both 2016 and 2022 as well as Song Of The Year and Album Of The Year at the New England Music Awards. Subsequent nominations for New Act Of The Year and more have been handed down in multiple Northeast award shows. The industry has clearly taken notice. Today, the band has found itself fully and without apology as a songwriting force, delivering records spanning from rock operas to full length trilogies. The world Cold Engines has built is vast and ever expanding.
