Hear new or rarely produced plays by contemporary playwrights that relate to the current exhibitions at 3S Artspace. After the playreading, stay for a facilitated conversation which includes a guided tour of the work on view in the Gallery.

About theatre KAPOW:Now in its 19th season, theatre KAPOW(www.tKAPOW.com) is a Manchester, NH-based ensemble theatre company that presents great works of dramatic literature across ages and cultures, believing that sharing stories on stage inspires healing conversations about societal issues. A core ensemble of artists–including performers, designers, directors, and technicians–works together to program and produce compelling theatre alongside guest artists who round out production teams.
Since its founding, tKAPOW has been recognized for the quality of its artistic work and its contributions to the community. tKAPOW has been awarded 17 New Hampshire Theatre Awards including 4 Best Production awards and 13 awards for individual artists. In 2021, tKAPOW received the Silver Lining Resilience Award as part of the Governor’s Arts Awards recognizing artists who “created, developed, implemented, or supported innovative solutions for the arts during the COVID-19 pandemic.

About the play, Continuity:
Bess Wohl’s startlingly funny new play examines what is worth saving and what isn’t—especially when we’re facing the end of the world.
A sheet of ice sits in the desert of New Mexico. A mad eco-terrorist plants a bomb in order to save humankind. A beleaguered film crew tries to get in one last shot before losing the light. In Continuity, storytelling and science collide with hilarious and devastating consequences. The play asks, “How do we keep going when hope can seem as fictional as a Hollywood ending?” and also, “What’s for lunch?”

Gallery exhibits overview:
The three exhibits that will share the Gallery space are a dialogue on how we act, how we endure, and how our choices ripple through ourselves, others, and the planet. Visitors will move from intimate observation to bold visual narratives to luminous, contemplative installations, experiencing a rich spectrum of human stories.
