Listen to GABI

Music is like sculpture. It’s like trying to capture a moment of ultimate momentum, and distill it forever.” – Clark, August 2014

Chris Clark is an English self taught Electonica musician. Clark began building his own primitive equipment as a teenager – jamming as many sounds thru the boxes as he can till it melds into something beat driven and beautiful. Now living in Berlin, Clark creates Techno Electronica music. And his live performances are electrifying – with hands flying he literally does every single thing being played - all created live.  Clark is part of the Warp Records label.

GABI –There's no denying the talent of classically trained avant-garde chanteuse Gabrielle Herbst (a.k.a. GABI). After years spent studying clarinet and piano, as well as Balinese dance while in Indonesia, the former Bard College grad further made a name for herself in 2014 when she premiered her first commissioned opera, Bodiless. GABI’s voice coupled with the dual-track loop pedal create a lush and beautiful story and moving landscape. She is a multi talented performer, not to be missed.

ABOUT CLARK

This is where the sounds of the machine meet the sounds of the world - a protracted club experience distilled into a cinematic, immersive whole. Clark's chiseled vision of techno contextualized for a postrave environment the clean, cold edges of technology eroded over time to produce raw, fascinating new textures.

Clark mixes these textures and lays the foundations for a hugely kaleidoscopic listening experience filled with warmth. Memorable songwriting packed with melody and subtle, unpredictable shifts in mood result in a finely balanced mix of electronic composition, heads down techno, human nature and the environment it was created in.

ABOUT GABI

Gabrielle's formal training began at an early age, studying Balinese dance and gamelan in Indonesia while learning both the clarinet and piano. Herbst’s experience writing for chamber orchestra and mixed instrumentation inspired her to develop a repertoire of short-form, vocal-centric compositions under the name GABI. These were driven by solitary explorations in early 2013 with a dual-track loop pedal. The nine songs composed for Sympathy embrace the vast potential of the human voice as instrument, story, and landscape.

GABI renders past influences and new collaborations into a personal statement on the desire for human connectivity and emotional catharsis.
