Call For Artisans

2025 FORM + FUNCTION ARTISAN FAIR

Submission Deadline: Sunday, August 3, 2025 
Notification: Applicants of their status by Tuesday, August 12, 2025.
Form + Function Dates: Friday, November 14 (5 - 10pm) and Saturday, November 15 (10am - 5pm)

3S Artspace invites applications from qualified artisans for the 7th annual Form + Function artisan fair.

At this intimate and selective two-day event, 3S Artspace presents original work by 22 unique and talented craftspeople to the greater Seacoast community. Our past events were met with great enthusiasm from the public and participating artisans, and we're consistently are answering inquiries about the fair's return.

New to 3S? We're a 501(c)3 non-profit, contemporary arts organization in Portsmouth, NH that's all about curiosity, creativity, and community

 
Venue: 
  • Our venue includes a Performance Space, Main Gallery, Lobby Gallery, and the Shop at 3S located in the lobby.
  • Artisan booths for Form + Function are in the Main Gallery and Performance Space only.
  • An on-site restaurant adds to the foot traffic and festivity surrounding the event.
Criteria:
Work from all major crafts categories will be considered. Artisans will be selected based on originality, quality, fit with the Seacoast market, and availability of space.

  • Only original, hand-crafted work by the exhibitor will be considered. Imports, items created from kits, and wholesale/manufactured goods will not be considered.
  • Sales of work not listed on the application form is not allowed.
  • Artisans must be present at the fair and manage their own sales. 

Application Requirements: Include one image of your complete display, and three images representing the works for sale at Form+ Function. 

Booth Space: 6 x 10' booth space. Space assignments are made at the discretion of the committee. Exhibitors are expected to provide their own display equipment. Electricity is available, as are a limited number of tables for rent if necessary.

Submission Fee: A $10 submission/application fee is required. This is non-refundable and supports our non-profit arts center.

Booth Fee: Booth space fee is $225 and is due within one week of an acceptance notice.

Sales: Artisans process and retain 100% of sales.

Security: General security will be provided on-site Friday and Saturday, and the spaces will be locked at night.

Expected Attendance: This is our 7th Form + Function artisan fair and the fifth since the AC Hotel Marriott Portsmouth opened next door. Last year, we hosted over 1,500 attendees. The hotel is operating at full capacity and Portsmouth continues to be a major center of cultural tourism.

We are within walking distance of new public parking facilities (and updated sidewalks), the heart of downtown Portsmouth, and many additional hotels. 3S Artspace presents to over 25,000 audience members each year and you can count on us to market this event for success.
