About Thanks to Gravity:
The TTG band photo is straight out of the Elvis Room Era and it features the original lineup who will be playing together here on October 4 for the first time since 1994!
Thanks to Gravity is known as one of the quintessential bands from the heyday of the Portsmouth, NH music scene in the 1990s. Formed at the University of New Hampshire in 1989, they gigged relentlessly around the United States and signed a contract with Capitol Records in 1996. The music is eclectic and rich with harmonic textures supporting songwriter Andy Happel’s abstract lyrics and clever songwriting. The band’s repertoire crosses genres of progressive rock, classical, baroque, riff-rock, and college indie-alternative. Their frenetic live performance coupled with a high level of musical sophistication appeals to a wide range of music aficionados and does not disappoint.
----
About Dan Blakeslee:
With a suitcase of songs, Maine folk troubadour Dan Blakeslee ventured into the subways of Boston in 1995 to practice his craft. He has been making music and art throughout New England ever since, leading him to tour the U.S. performing with The Low Anthem, David Wax Museum, Lydia Loveless, The Lumineers, Liam Finn, Brown Bird, Joe Fletcher, Death Vessel and Kimya Dawson among others. In 2015 his dream of playing Newport Folk Festival became a reality, the location where Bob Dylan went electric 50 years earlier. Blakeslee is unafraid to bare his very soul on stage, emptying a loaded cache of emotion and passion onto the stage for all to witness, explore and devour.

About Bob Halperin:
Bob Halperin has been a presence in the Seacoast music scene for over 30 years. Initially known for his virtuosic solo blues finger-picking and slide guitar performances, he has also established himself as a sought-after sideman and as a member of the roots/Americana band Wooden Eye and of the band for the gospel choir, Rock My Soul. He teaches guitar at Gary’s Guitars in Portsmouth and at The Music Emporium in Lexington, MA.
“Halperin’s guitar work is nimble and assured, subtle but also with the right amount of power. You can hear trace influences of greats such as Robert Johnson, Son House and others, but the playing here is beyond imitation. Halperin has developed a singular voice on the instrument.” - Alan Chase, The Wire
