Join us for our final Port Lucy event of 2022 as we focus on songwriting. Part social event, part concert, and part conversation, let’s celebrate and connect women musicians, those in the music industry, and their audiences. Come out with friends for a show and a chance to ask questions, hear stories, advocate for equity, and be part of the conversation about women thriving in all corners of the music industry.

This is a free event. As a non-profit working to build back audiences in the pandemic, we want to make this event as accessible as possible to our community. We really want the community to experience this series and create an audience that returns over and over again!

Frances Forever:
Frances Forever is Frances Garrett.

Frances Forever can spin anything into sunshine. As the project of Boston-area singer-songwriter Frances Garrett, its myriad moods can send listeners reeling into romance or off floating in existential space. Garrett balances their familiarity with extremes with an undeniable ear for melody and a gift for writing tracks that could live at home anywhere on the pop timeline.

Paper Lady:
Paper Lady is the immortal crone, casting spells and wreaking havoc in Boston MA. This 5 piece indie dream rock outfit consists of Alli Raina, Alex Castile, Rowan Martin, Will Davila, and Kenzo Divic. As well as live member, Brady Dallas Jones. They have made a name for themselves in the Boston music scene within the last few years.

“ The band [Paper Lady] evokes images of wide-open skies on the night of the full moon, rituals with mysterious robed figures chanting in eldritch dialects, and the cyclical nature of the seasons and the stars.” - Boston Hassle

Scarlet Keys:
Scarlet Keys has been a fulltime professor in the Songwriting department at the Berklee College of music since 2003. She coauthored the first masters course for the new songwriting masters for Berklee and authored the book “The Craft of Songwriting: Music, Meaning and Emotion”.

She is a former staff songwriter for Warner/Chappell music publishing and has collaborated with countless artists such as Chris Stapleton and Charlie Puth and has mentored thousands of songwriters including Charlie Puth, Sam Fischer, Betty Who and Ingrid Andress.

Scarlet has had several songs recorded by other artists resulting in a gold record, a number #1 song in Britain and two albums of her own, and her songs have appeared in film, television and national commercials.

Most recently, she is the host of the podcast “What’s in a Song”.

About the Port Lucy series presented by 3S Artspace:
Port Lucy provides a new platform to celebrate women musicians in New England by presenting quarterly opportunities to connect, perform, and develop as artists along with audiences and other women in the music industry.

Port Lucy was developed in 2020, stemming from a sense by Portsmouth musician Elissa Margolin and former 3S talent buyer Tristan Law that something was missing for women musicians. Inspired partly by NYC's The Hum, 3S Artspace began developing the series for 2020. Although the pandemic hit pause on the project for a time, we're excited to finally be able to share and grow this series with our community in 2022.
