Long Story Short and True Tales Radio present: Finding Your Voice

Long Story Short and True Tales Radio are hosting a special storytelling event featuring well-seasoned storytellers from each of these ongoing series on Wednesday, May 18 at 7 p.m. Three performers from Long Story Short and three more from True Tales Radio will take the stage to share funny, sad, and touching personal stories based on the theme Finding Your Voice.

The performers are Linda Rhodes, Sharon Jones Jenkins, Kathy Boss, Michael Boulerice, Kathy Wolfe and Debbie Kane. These names include local performers and writers who were selected from past performances from each series for their engaging work.

This evening is part of a two-show collaboration between the groups. Long Story Short will head to the WSCA studios for a live recording with True Tales Radio on Tuesday, May 31 at 6 p.m. Each of these performances aims to showcase each series’ slightly different feel and take on the art of storytelling. Long Story Short is a live performance in front of a theater audience at 3S Artspace, while True Tales Radio is broadcast live from the studios of Portsmouth Community Radio before a smaller, in-studio audience.  This collaboration has been in the works for months in hopes of showing off the style and unique talent each series brings to storytelling.

Long Story Short is an ongoing storytelling series featuring a wide variety of people from around the Seacoast who have a good story to share. Held the third Wednesday of the month every other month, Long Story Short includes six scheduled storytellers and one person selected from the audience to tell a story on the spot based on that night’s theme. Featured themes from past events include, The Waiting Game, Back to School, Hard Rock and Heartbreak, and Past Lives. You can find more about Long Story Short on its Facebook page,

True Tales Radio of Portsmouth Community Radio gives local people an opportunity to step up to the microphone and share a true story with on-air listeners and an in-studio audience on the last Tuesday of each month between 6 and 8 p.m.  Each month features a different theme around which storytellers have 10 minutes to tell their stories, with no grading, ranking, or rating.  Find out more at
