Celebrate the revival of funk music in your life! “Put a glide in your stride, a dip in yo' hip and come on up to the mothership” with She Funk.

Our promise is this: regardless of your age, if you've got the moves and grooves and want to channel your inner “funkasaurus” – She Funk will bring the Soul Train dance line to you so you can strut your stuff in style.

The She Funk name was derived from P-Funk, or Parliament Funkadelic; pure funk music which is now considered to be a genre in its own right.  The vision for She Funk is to bring the best of pure funk from the 70s and 80s, with strong women fronting the band, and feature the NH Seacoast’s finest talent.  The 12-piece band boasts a 5-piece horn, 4-piece rhythm section, 2 back-up vocalists and a lead singer. This formidable group has few musical boundaries, especially given the cross-section of players, with both seasoned members and fresh contemporaries in the music scene.

She Funk collectively has a broad range of experience with members who have toured extensively and performed with renowned artists. Some have managed highly sought-after variety bands within the public and private markets (corporate functions, weddings, and parties). And several are respected, professional music instructors and teachers in the Seacoast area.

When you stir this pot of talent, it reflects in the songlist, robust with horns, harmonies and bangin’ solos.  Love horns? Earth Wind and Fire, Tower of Power, Kool & The Gang, Ohio Players, and the Average White Band will scratch that itch.  Do female funk heavy hitters get you moving? Chaka Khan, Aretha, Tina Turner, Mother’s Finest, Betty Davis will shake your booty. Are you a 70’s Soul Train hippie? You will be diggin’ on Graham Central Station, Sly and the Family Stone, Parliament/P-Funk, and the Isley Brothers.  Maybe you are a baby boomer funkster? Get down with Rick James, Prince, Morris Day, and The Gap Band. Millenial? Yes we got you! Bob your head to Dag, The Heim, Trombone Shorty, and The Red Hot Chili Peppers.
