Railsback Curve is a new site-specific installation by New York-based artist, composer, and multi-instrumentalist Eli Keszler. The piano is used as a central anchor, taking a mechanized geometric web of piano wires as a starting point. The piece combines multi-directional sound featuring a dense combination of percussive and harmonic sustains that will emanate throughout 3S' gallery. The audio experience is further heightened by a large scale canvas depicting an abstraction of the piano's audible ranges.
The opening reception will be on Friday, May 29th from 5 to 8pm. The reception is free and open to the public. On the same evening, Keszler will further activate the gallery at 3S with a unique site-specific performance in conjunction with the piece. The performance will be at 8:30 pm and tickets are $5.
